Accounting Firm SEO Scorecard
Eight checks, run against your live site right now. Each one is benchmarked against 28 real accounting firm websites we audited ourselves, so you can see where you actually stand rather than against generic advice.

Where the benchmarks come from
We audited 28 independent US accounting and CPA firm websites drawn from local search results across Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, Indianapolis and Denver. Every measurement is a fact that is present or absent in the page's HTML. Nothing is scored subjectively.
The short version of what we found: the basics are mostly fine. 96% are on HTTPS and all of them work on mobile. What is missing is the layer underneath, the part that tells a search engine or an AI answer what kind of business you are. Only 18% declare themselves as an accounting business in a form a machine can read, and only 11% publish their opening hours where one can find them.
It is a sample of 28 firms in five metros, not a census, so treat the percentages as a directional benchmark rather than a law.
If the score comes back low
The eight checks here are the front end of a longer engagement. Fixing the entity layer, the local signals, and the answer-first content that decides whether a firm gets cited is SEO for CPA firms, and it is what we do most weeks. When the checks fail because the site itself is the problem, and on older practice sites they usually do, the fix is CPA website design rather than another round of patches on a theme nobody owns.
